She tries not to keep track, because then everything just gets... confusing. Her home world was Earth, but after living here for a while she realized her Earth wasn't exactly the same as somebody else's Earth (at least not most of the time). Alex's life was mostly spent in front of a large computer set-up, a camera pointed at her face and some sort of video game playing on the screen while she streamed live online. She was quite popular on her platform, and made a good living off of what she was doing considering the minimal amount of effort it usually took. Alex loved it. It was her passion. One night she had had a particularly long 24-hour stream that drained her of all her energy, but helped her earn a lot of money for charity. At then end of the night, she finally finished and said goodnight to her many followers and subscribers, then immediately lost consciousness in her bed. When she woke up, she was here. On the island. And it was kind of terrifying. [attr="class","rcappleft2"] [attr="class","rcappleft3"] [attr="class","rcappleft4"] [attr="class","rcapplefttitle"]CHARACTER ABILITIES [attr="class","rcappleft51"] LIVESTREAMAlex may not have any super powers, but she does have a knack for streaming live. Even after waking up on Tomodachi Island, she's kept her daily life relatively the same as possible and streams nearly once a day every day. Her personality just seems to match her way of life so that she's easily successful. Maybe somehow it's related to some form of magic, but Alex isn't sure she'll ever really question that it's not just random luck.[break][break] QUICK-WITTEDAlong with her inclination towards liverstreaming, Alex also has a very quick wit and oftentimes this will lead to clever one-liners and jokes that many find pretty hilarious. Again, it's not super power, but it is something that makes Alex and her persona (both on and offline) amiable to a certain degree. Alex thinks it's probably the only reason she has friends. California, to be exact. Her father was a white American while her mother was South Korean. Alex's Korean family lived overseas, and she only visited them a few times in her life. She knew a little about her culture, but not very much. American school kind of erased most of her culture from the get-go not because of distinct racism, but because she passed as white and the subject of her heritage never really came up besides early Elementary School. Her American name kept people in High School from asking, so only a few close friends knew she was half Korean (and only after meeting Alex's mother).[break][break] It was during Middle School that Alex realized her passion for video games after being introduced to them by her father. Once she started playing, she almost never stopped. It was almost something of an obsession. It became better as she got older, but Alex seemed to know during High School that she wanted her future to revolve around video games — she just didn't know how. Eventually a streaming site showed up and became popular during her Senior year, and everything just kind of snowballed from their.[break][break] Alex's family was pretty well-off, all things considered, and after working a shitty part-time job in a retail store and receiving some help from her parents, Alex was easily able to afford everything she needed to make her first gaming set-up. Her stream wasn't particularly popular at first, but as she got into the swing of things, the more famous she became. She was able to move out of her parents' house at the age of eighteen and afford a small apartment just for herself, and she lived there for another year and watched as her popularity grew. By the age of nineteen, she was considered a small online celebrity. Alex was very flattered by the fact, and appreciated her fanbase more than anyone could have possibly known. She considered them family.[break][break] LIFE ON THE ISLANDAt first, Tomodachi Island was terrifying to Alex. It was a nightmare. She was so lost, and so confused. She didn't know what to do. All the did know is that she needed to get a job, and needed one fast. Otherwise she wouldn't be able to afford this weird apartment these people gave her and then she'd be in really deep shit.[break][break] Alex worked where she was mildly comfortable in retail. She sold as many outfits and blouses and dresses as she could to wrack up enough money to get where she really wanted, and eventually she was able to make another gaming set-up. Life without video games and streaming was making her antsy and nervous all the time. To her luck, Tomodachi Island had it's own streaming service, so Alex was able to settle into it with little to no effort. Her channel, named ProjectDIVA, was an instant hit. Maybe it wasn't such a wide platform like it was one Earth? Regardless, Alex received plenty of followers fairly quickly and was able to quit her job within her second year of working there. Today, she streams 5 days every week and lives comfortably (maybe even lavishly, compared to some others). Her face is pretty well-known around town, and she's hoping to maybe one day start a career as an actress on the side. Some people have already tried to contract her into movies, but she wants to be picky. She might be on the way to becoming a full-blown celebrity on the island, depending on if she plays her cards right.[break][break] Oftentimes Alex will remember her past life, her parents, her old friends, but she'll push it down and far away into the back of her mind. Thinking about them makes her homesick to the degree of near depression, and she doesn't want to live that way. She hopes somehow she can get into contact with them soon, but Alex isn't sure that will ever be possible.
