X Marks the Spot (Open)

[Red X]

Red X was not in what one could call the "best of moods" right now, for a multitude of reasons. One of the reasons was that he had somehow ended up somewhere and his communication device was not working. A lot of the functions of his suit, well all of them in fact were not working. This made Red X more than a bit irritated at his present situation he found himself in. Without his suit, he'd have to rely on his skills in order to get the parts to repair the suit so that he could get it working. After all, if there were any heroic types he didn't want to find himself defenseless against them. If he were to find himself in such a situation it was likely to be extremely bad for his health. As such he needed a solution to his problem that he currently had. 

Problem 1 was his suit of course. Without it working, he couldn't use any of it's defenses if he were to run into trouble. Sighing as he walked into one of the scrapyards in the tech sector of the part of the island he was on, Red X decided he wasn't just going to repair his suit. No, it was past time he upgraded it and added some tools of his own to the costume. After all, if he were as smart as the original wearer he had to make his own improvements to it, right? 

In fact an upgrade was exactly what the suit needed. 

"How to go about it though?"  asked Red X to no one in particular as he took off the belt, and the gloves of the suit. These were the parts that needed repair as the helmet still for some odd reason was functional.

If she's being truthful, it's a mystery to her as much as the man she was set to bother why she had gone out of her way to stop by the junkyard that day without any sign of warning. Curiosity was to blame, perhaps: Normal people didn't go wandering around aimlessly (or, worse still, with reasons that were likely nefarious) in dangerous places like this with nothing to see but treasure that was another man's trash, and ever since she'd accidentally crashed a Council meeting without even realizing that was what it had been, she'd felt a certain need to pay the favor back by helping them to cover up crime. Well, as much as someone of her kind could, anyway. Or maybe it was just that she, herself, had never been there, also attributed to the fact that most people wouldn't be caught dead stepping foot in one of few pockets of the island that didn't scream and shout “paradise” at wandering eyes. Not that she would have known that until today, anyway. Until today, she'd never had a means of travel to this place at all. Whether it was the former, the latter, or some other option entirely, however, Miku didn't bother to pay it much mind. What mattered is that she had, silently and hidden, hitched a ride with the thief who'd made his way to the yard for... well, his own mysterious reasons. Not in the sense that a normal person would, however. Normal people, after all, weren't sentient programs, and few had to hide themselves from everyone with access to the worldwide web: military and geniuses alike.[break][break]

Her intent had initially been to observe. N-not in a creepy way! she'd be quick to defend should some hypothetical viewer dare to question the nature of it, but simply for the sake of curiosity at its purest. She'd spent so long on Earth doing nothing but observing, and while some would tire of it, she, herself, only found it more interesting. It was one thing to experience what her collective makers made for her to see, to do, to be, and another entirely to see what they, themselves, saw in real life to inspire them to do those things in the first place. Tomodachi Island was a bit different, though; the Vocaloid knew about the general mannerisms of the “average human being”, but people weren't just humans anymore. Not here, at least. Fortunately, the man in the electronic mask (the one she hid in now) was of a breed she was quite familiar with. Unfortunately, she couldn't quite wrap her mind around why he was here. Or stripping. Weird.[break][break]

“Um, excuse me!” Miku began, breaking out of hiding and speaking through the stranger's mask. The cat be doomed: This odd behavior had her interest peaked, and she'd be doomed if she didn't get to the bottom of it. “Sorry to intrude, but what exactly are you doing all the way out here?”

[attr="class","mikmikbot"]so - as tempting as it was to use nikki, since "x marks the spot" is a pretty prominent line from one of the mindcrime ii songs... - i ended up throwing miku in here since nikki doesn't need anymore friends. who knows, maybe he can come after red x with a gun later. actually, dang, better yet, when people start talking about some guy named "x" running around, nikki's probably gonna throw up on go hunt him down, anyway. maybe this is a plot we'll have to have for later. *strokes chin* anyway, in the meanwhile, have miku. she can travel through electronics without anyone really noticing, so - since i assumed his mask is at least partly electronic - i had her hitch a ride in x's mask. lemme know if that doesn't work, though, and i'll re-work it to match canon. =w=b

[Red X]

When a mysterious voice says something to you,  you typically panic if you are a normal person. However, Red X was not by definition "normal" because he had no life outside of the costume that he could return to. Not that he would ever hang up the costume he had "borrowed" from Robin of course, but that was beside the point right now. An individual he did not know had somehow hacked into his suit, and was currently using the helmet to communicate with him. Suffice to say irritated was not the right word that fit how Red X felt about the situation he was currently enduring. There was a more fitting word although it was considered obscene. For that reason he didn't allow himself to reply, at least not at first anyway. Groaning, Red X thought about his options. Finally he decided that "politeness" was the tool he was going to use to get whoever it was to leave him alone or at least get out of his mask. His suit needed upgrades and repairs, which he could not do if he were continually distracted by whoever it was. Red X then decided he'd ask her who she was, because it sounded like the voice of a girl. 

"Currently, before you interrupted I was attempting to fix my costume. It's not entirely functional right now, except for the helmet."  Not knowing who the person was, Red X poised his next question carefully. "So who are you?"  Or maybe not so carefully, but he didn't believe he deserved to have to beat around the bush for information like the name of the individual. His first step once he finished with her, Red X decided having paused what he had been doing was to prepare himself for the future. To do this, he'd need Xynothium or however it was pronounced to power the suit. Sure he had the Regenerative Core, but with it he couldn't do a lot of the functions he'd like. Such as teleportation for example, which was an ability Red X believed might definitely come in handy for his own personal use.
