[attr="class","rcappleft2"] [attr="class","rcappleft3"] [attr="class","rcappleft4"] [attr="class","rcapplefttitle"]CHARACTER ABILITIES [attr="class","rcappleft51"] SONIC SPEED In his world, Sonic is the owner of the title 'fastest thing alive' and for good reason. No one, not even Sonic himself, knows his true maximum speed! It's calculated it may be faster than light itself. Super speed is a skill he was born with and by far his greatest asset. This talent appears to have grown with him as well, as while his control and reaction time were lacking in his younger years (causing him to be tentative about going at high speeds), now Sonic has utmost precision with it. In spite of his potential, he normally stays right below the speed of sound, as to not cause destruction to his surroundings as a sonic boom could cause damage. If in a barren area, however, he can go well beyond those limits. He has also been known to use this speed to create strong winds.[break] ENHANCED ABILITY Compared to his small size, Sonic has extraordinary agility and strength (though this likely would not be classified super strength, especially not in his arms). He can leap several feet into the air, and he has acrobatic skills which allow him to use his reaction time and sharp reflexes to his advantage when moving at high speeds, allowing him to have a good shot to dodge any incoming projectiles. Mainly, his physical strength is in his legs, and because of this his kicks are far more powerful than his punches. He has more endurance than the average human would, but it isn't endless. It's said that Sonic's running can be completely spoiled if he doesn't get eight hours of sleep.[break][break] SPIN DASH His signature technique. With this move, Sonic curls up into a spiky protective ball and revs up, charging it's speed and power in one place. When unleashed, he darts off like a bullet, able to tear through many obstacles in his path, even solid metal if charged properly. A variant of this move is the homing attack, in which Sonic will use a quicker, less powerful version of this move in mid-air to crash into a chosen opponent without harming himself in the process (usually).[break] HEROIC DETERMINATION Because of his adventures Sonic is no stranger to pain. He's not invincible, and a lucky hit has been known to be easily able to knock him out (that is if you can catch him), but when awake and alert this hero is used to shrugging off any amount of pain. He never surrenders and never gives up, even if he doubts himself. This can be a flaw as well as a blessing when he pushes his body too far, but there is no denying it can be an impressive sight at the least.[break] SKILLED FIGHTER Years of experience as a hero battling robots and rivals alike have taught Sonic a lot. Don't let his playfulness fool you, although he does hold back his full strength as his good nature prevents him from harming anyone seriously unless it is absolutely necessary. If pushed to the limits, Sonic can hold his own in an all-out brawl, even if he isn't particularly physically strong without his speed, he knows how to use every skill he has to it's utmost advantage due to practice. Sonic is also skilled in swordplay as well as hand to hand combat. He took his time for once, because he had to admit, the task of smashing robots today had gotten pretty tiring. Eggman had almost make him break a sweat...almost. Yawning, the hedgehog took this moment to stretch his arms and legs, hopping up and down as he loosened himself up for a run that would, hopefully, jog his brain back up to speed. He didn't want to take a nap just yet, there was still so much daylight left! Not to mention, Tails must've been waiting for him back at the workshop. The blue hedgehog hadn't brought a communicator with him, so it was his duty to let his little bro know he was back and okay, nary a scratch on him. He squinted as he stretched backwards and the sun went into his eyes, nearly harming them had he not directed his gaze away. The wind kicked up. The hero took in a deep breath. He crouched, extending his legs into his usual starting position for a run. Ready...set, and...go![break][break] WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET— It would never get old, he could tell. Racing through the forest, letting himself drift around a turn to feel the grass slide through his gloved fingertips, and then boosting off - the feeling of the wind getting stronger and stronger, normally people would describe it as the wind trying to push against him, but that was the weird thing about it, Sonic had always felt the opposite. Every time he ran, it helped him, and it guided him. He was born on the wind, and it was his companion, never his enemy. Even a tornado (the kind that wasn't his plane) hardly phased him nowadays! Maybe he was just a nature sap (heh), but he'd never try to fight it. He would work together with it because you couldn't win, and maybe because of that way of thinking, Sonic felt true freedom. The hedgehog barely even had to think about it because of how ingrained it was in him, never missing a beat. He gained speed right before a jump, and for all any other set of eyes knew he rocketed off, breaking the sound barrier mid-air, a blue pulse in his wake that shook the trees but didn't topple them.[break][break] JUST A GUY WHO LOVES ADVENTURE! Then something happened as he unfurled from where he had previously been in a spin dash. He didn't have the words to explain it, but something about this particular jump felt different than all the others. Sonic felt shaky, out of place on the wind for the first time in his life. And the blue sky felt like it was changing too quickly. Everything went white for just a second, and Sonic blinked his eyes quickly. The speed at which he was accelerating came crawling to a halt. What was happening to him? Just as he was about to panic, the sky came back into view, and Sonic sighed in relief before realizing it was orange, a sunset. It had been noon not two seconds ago. Did he...pass out? No, then why was he still in the air? And hanging there? ...Uh oh. Sonic gulped, and looked down, and as soon as he did, he was falling. Crying out, the blue blur flailed wildly in the air, realizing a body of water was below him. But there was also the beach, which one would he land in?[break][break] The beach, as it turned out. And he wasn't sure if that was lucky or unlucky. Sonic went face first into the dirt, sand kicking up to absurd heights as he did so. Finally his body went limp. "Urgh..." He tried to groan, but his mouth was pretty much filled with sand at this point. Quickly, Sonic tried to pull his head out of the beach with all his might. It wasn't working out so well. He spent a moment like this, struggling wildly before he heard a muffled voice and there were hands around him, pulling him out. Sonic gasped for air and begin to spit out the sand, yuck! Too distracted by this and the task of shaking all the sand from his quills, he let whoever was holding him up continue to do so. It turned out that it was a human woman, grinning at him the same way one would at a kitten.[break][break] "Aww, you're so cute, lil' guy! Where are you from?" Stopped by the weirdness of this situation, he blinked and finally looked to her. She adjusted her hold on him, smiling and began to walk off the beach still holding him. The blue hedgehog snapped out of his reverie. "H-Hey, thanks and all, but please let me down!" Pride sorely injured—she was carrying him like a baby—the hero didn't wait for a response, hopping out of her grip with ease and landing on his feet. As soon as he straightened up he began to brush himself off more, but realized it was pointless. He needed a shower. "Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't know you could talk! But you need to come with me. All new arrivals need to register." Blinking, Sonic looked to her, confused. New arrivals? Register? No way! He was already a citizen! And where the heck was he, anyway? He been no where close to the sea when he'd jumped, that he made sure of![break][break] ...Just what had he landed himself into now?
