Her body was whisked away into little particles of light, her soul drifting away into the Lifestream... All she remembered was white. And then she woke up, as if it was all a dream. She was supposed to be dead. But... she's not anymore. [attr="class","rcappleft2"] [attr="class","rcappleft3"] [attr="class","rcappleft4"] [attr="class","rcapplefttitle"]CHARACTER ABILITIES [attr="class","rcappleft51"] WHITE MAGICWhere she comes from, there are magical items called Materia. Aerith is in possession of a powerful White Materia which gives her access to healing, rejuvenation and curing ailments of all kinds. She can even bring breath back to those who have died (but if they've been dead longer than 24 hours, she cannot bring them back). The type of wound depends on how long it will take her. She can heal anything from a scratch to an open wound in minutes but things like deep gashes, torn ligaments, broken bones or anything nearly fatal requires a great deal of concentration. If someone has been decapitated, she cannot Raise them either. [break][break] THE LAST CETRAAerith is the last living Cetra on her home world of Midgar. The Cetras were a powerful race of beings that could feel the earth and hears its voice. They were very in-tune with nature and could harness nature's energy and use it to heal and cure. They were all thought to have died, but Aerith still lived and she became very sought after because of her Cetra nature. For a long time, she didn't quite understand what was happening. She could hear the voices of the dead calling to her. She could feel when the earth was in pain from all of the destruction that came with ShinRa. Because of her Cetra heritage, Aerith is very perceptive of nature and can "communicate" somewhat with plants and animals. [/PTab={background-color:transparent;width:478px;height:612px;padding:0px!important;margin:-23px -3px -3px -3px;}] [PTab= [attr="class","rcapptab2"]BIO ][attr="class","rcappleft6"] [attr="class","rcappleft61"] Aerith never really knew her father, as he was killed barely a month after she was born. Her mother, Ifalna, and herself were captured by a man named Professor Hojo. He was a scientist in the large corporation Shinra, and he proceeded to conduct experiments on them because they were very special... They were the last known Cetra, an ancient race known for their immense magical abilities.[break][break] Ifalna did not want such a life for her child, and so the two managed to escape seven years later. Ifalna was, unfortunately, gravely injured in the chase and she collapsed before a woman named Elmyra Gainsborough. Ifalna begged the woman to take care of Aerith, and then she passed away. Elmyra raised Aerith as if she were her own daughter. To say she had a happy childhood would be wrong; but she was at least taken care of and knew of love. But she could never escape the feeling of being lonely. She knew of her Cetra heritage and knew she was the only one left; it has been and always will be something she struggles with and tries to hide and forget.[break][break] Growing up in the slums made Aerith a strong woman. She had no trouble doing things alone, which she often did. She spent a lot of her time in an abandoned church, tending to a patch of flowers that she planted after removing some floor boards. Little life grew on the surface because of the Mako Reactors. It was because of the Mako Reactor above her that she met one of the most dear people in her life. When she was fifteen, Zack Fair crashed through the ceiling of the church and landed on her flowers. Aerith was not upset, and made a light joke out of the situation. The two started a conversation, and their relationship only grew from there. He was her first love; he took her on a date, and bought her the signature ribbon she wears in her hair. The two kept in touch with cellphones and occasionally seeing each other for the next two years.[break][break] The time she spent with him was precious. Shinra had always been interested in her, and their continued interest made her wary to leave but Zack made her feel much safer. He convinced her to leave the slums to sell her flowers, but it didn't work as well as they had hoped. Aerith asks him to write down a few of his "tiny wishes," which he does. Little did she know that that would be the last time she saw Zack.[break][break] Aerith had always wanted to leave the slums, leave the city that was slowly becoming more and more polluted. She shared these dreams with a Turk that she ran into as she was selling her flowers. She is told about AVALANCHE and evades some trouble that comes her way. Little has changed in her life, and she continues to write Zack letters, never knowing if he is receiving any of them. Her fears came true when one day, while tending to her flowers, she feels a strong energy from the earth, a sinking feeling in her gut that something has happened to the one she loves. She looks up to the sky and clasps her hands.[break][break] As the years passed, Aerith grew more comfortable with going to the surface to sell her flowers. On one particular day when she is selling them, she runs into a blonde-haired blue-eyed boy dressed in familiar clothing. Later that day as she is in the church, that same boy falls through the ceiling and lands in her flowers... It brought back some painful memories, but she pushed them aside with a light smile and laugh. The situation is soon turned serious when Reno of the Turks comes to take her away to Shinra, and she asks Cloud Strife to be her bodyguard.[break][break] Thus begins her adventures with the members of AVALANCHE: Cloud, Tifa and Barret.[break][break] Aerith is captured by Shinra while trying to escort Barret's daughter, Marlene, to safety. She is taken to Professor Hojo, whom reveals her Cetra heritage to Shinra. They want to use her and experiment on her. It was the last place she wanted to be. But soon, the members of AVALANCHE storm the place and rescue her as well as Red XIII from imprisonment. They all soon flee from Midgar to escape Shinra and hunt down Sephiroth. Aerith goes with them because she wants to find out more about her heritage, and Sephiroth is searching for the Cetra's Promised Land.[break][break] While traveling with AVALANCHE, she faced many different challenges. She met Hojo again, who revealed she may be the last Cetra. She faced the loneliness in her heart by revealing to Cloud that he reminded her of Zack, though she knew they were different people. The more she traveled with them, more of her heritage was revealed. They track him down and she uses her Cetra powers to decipher some markings in a temple that Sephiroth plans to use. She finds Sephiroth's true intentions and knows that she is the only one who can stop him.[break][break] The temple they are in transforms into the powerful Black Materia and gives Sephiroth power. He takes control of Cloud and Aerith attempts to stop him. She is attacked, but the other members go after the possessed Cloud and knock him out. Knowing he would try to stop her, Aerith seizes the chance and leaves to deal with Sephiroth alone. She contacts Cloud in a dream and reveals her Cetra heritage to him, her desire to stop Sephiroth.[break][break] Loneliness has always lingered in her life. Aerith struggled to come to terms with being the last Cetra, but she had to push past those thoughts if she wanted to save her friends. She fled to the Forgotten Capital and began to pray on an altar to whoever... whatever would listen. It was here that she intended to stop Sephiroth from using the Black Materia... But Cloud and the others eventually found her with the help of the clues she left him in his dreams. Sephiroth was not far behind. He attempted to take control of Cloud, but he resisted. Aerith was deep in prayer, but when she was done and saw what was happening around her...[break][break] It was too late.[break][break] A blinding, searing pain... and then white.[break][break] All white.[break][break] When she opened her eyes, she could see nothing but white. She could feel nothing but a throbbing pain on her back that slowly went away with each passing second. As her eyes adjusted... she found herself in a comfortable bed, in a room she had never seen before. Was everything just a dream?
