He was reluctant to describe himself as snobby or judgemental, although he would admit that in the past he had looked down on those that cared little about remaining well-kept. But he had been able to befriend and empathize with those types nonetheless, despite the differences he had with them. A Pharaoh had to be diplomatic. ...Well, what a funny way he was thinking now. He would scoff at it, remembering all the days he had spent without knowing his past, feeling little to no connection to it. Times had changed. As soon as he had spent time in the afterlife Atem had known it was his true calling. It was not the power (there was little need for his rule with how perfect a heaven could be) but providing a service his people, upholding the history and mighty tradition they had built, that was an honor that he found joy in. He had to wonder if the owner of this island felt the same, but he then pushed away the thought as he reached his destination.[break][break] Bonasera...a tailor shop, primarily making suits, which Atem had found out was the most 'formal' clothing you could wear in the modern world. This was why he was here. He knew the price tags could be steep, so the Pharaoh had taken care to save up for this purchase, just in case. If the tailor was a master in their craft, they likely would have a pride in it, and as such charge appropriately. With any luck, they would be willing to help Atem in spite of his ignorance. [break][break] There was one relief about living here. The nature of the island meant that he could explain his backstory without getting disbelieving looks like he would have in Domino. Which meant he had an usable reason for why he had no idea what kind of suit to purchase. Atem was not a fan of using excuses, and normally his confidence would not allow it, but here, the task at hand was minor enough that he didn't feel much reluctance. Pushing open the door and taking in the scent and lighting of the shop, assessing it's quality, a piercing gaze scanned for any workers. Stepping forward, he called out. "Hello?" Work was slow, as it always was, but that was why he liked it. It satisfied the government that he had a job, but he didn't typically have much to do, so most of his time was spent working on his various crafts. Today, again, was embroidery. Gold thread bloomed flowers across black fabric as he worked quickly and meticulously. He worked from the comfort of a sofa situated in the middle of the floor, intended initially for customers, but now used most by himself. People didn't seem to need suits too much on the island. Everything was more lax, more casual, no higher corporate greed forcing unreasonable standards on the people. An expensive suit simply wasn't a requirement for job interviews here. He almost didn't like it, the casualness with which the island functioned. The utopia-like appearance, candy-coloured and too sweet. The perfection was achingly boring and although he'd had some fun a few days ago with those two that had tried so foolishly to kill him, his hands already itched again for another fight. This island might be advertised as perfect, but Alessandro was horrifically bored with it already.

A gentle bell rang, a voice called out, and Alessandro looked to the door. "Yugi—? No." That wasn't him. He looked like him, but a closer look was all that was needed to determine that they were not, in fact, Yugi. He paused in his work, but he did not get up. "Welcome." He said slowly as he scrutinized Atem. This man held himself high and proud, eyes forward and never down, and while a mild anxiety seemed to have settled onto him, he still maintained a dignified air. Yugi was little like this man, timid and still too much a child, and Aless was confident he could stare down the boy with ease, but Atem hardly seemed to flinch under his gaze. "Who are you?" Pleasantries were skipped as Aless jumped straight to the question on his mind, "You look like my employee, but you're certainly not him. Yugi's still alive, for one." The taste of death hung around Atem, although perhaps mortals would not notice. So even spirits were pulled to this god forsaken island. How truly sad. To be pulled from your promised after life must be a bitter taste, a promise broken right as it was to be fulfilled. Alessandro pitied him.

Slowly, he returned to his embroidery. "If you're looking for the boy whose face is so similar, he's off today. If you're looking for a suit, though, I can help with that."

Atem's eyes went wide, recognition instantly crossing his face as he looked to the source of the sound. He was surprised to see it was a man he didn't know, but only for a moment — surely if Yugi was here, he would be making new connections. That was the way he was, kindness in his heart. The Pharaoh relaxed the posture that had grown tense at the call. Never one to be rude, he allowed the stranger to look him over and welcome him. He was surprised that this human, no, he couldn't be human, could spot with ease that he was not of the living. When he honed in on this creature wearing a older man's skin, he recognized the aura surrounding him for what it was. Looking at him swelled Atem with the same awe that one would feel upon seeing the Egyptian Gods. Was he mistaken, or could it be? Did this utopian island hold everything at once, the dead, the living, and the Godly? He had seen a lot of impossible things in his times, but this took a good leading spot among them. "I am Atem. I am a Pharaoh—in my time, long ago."[break][break] There was no reason to hide anything from a God, as he assumed if they wanted information, they would have it. Even as a spirit who no longer feared death, Atem would rather not tempt fate and find out if a powerful being could still cause him pain although he was now sans a vessel. But, speaking of... "I do know Yugi. He is my..." A pause in his otherwise direct speech, as he considered how to word it in an easily graspable way. "My successor, I would say. He guided my spirit for a while when it was restless." Deeming that enough exposition, the Pharaoh showed no fear in the face of what could be a Lord over all, but he did show an utmost respect. [break][break] Any being that could hold such a grand title deserved it, of course. Especially if they were older than he himself was, their wisdom would be beyond compare. "If he is present, then I will have to find him. I would like to be in contact with him again. However...as I did not know he was on this island, that is not why I came to this shop." A smile bloomed on his face. "I was hoping you would not mind making some choices for me. Since I am unfamiliar with the formal wear of this time..." Oh, oh a pharaoh, that immediately grabbed Alessandro's attention, because while Egypt had never been his domain, he knew of the familiarity of pharaohs with their gods. This spirit probably knew what he was. Who he was, though, was a different story. He smiled slowly. He'd intended to keep it a secret for a while longer, but there was only so much you could hide from a spirit, and even less from one so closely intertwined with the gods. "Relax." He gave a small wave of his hand, "I am neither your god nor of this island, so there's no need to be so respectful. My godhood isn't something I'm trying to flash around, so do keep it to yourself, my dear Atem. It will only cause problems if people know." Eyes were already focused on him, he didn't want to give them reason to look even closer.

"You are the one inside him." Aless was aware of the existence of another within the child, "Presumably from farther ahead in time. How different your reactions to me are." And he smiled again, but waved away the topic. " Considering the cultural differences from the variety if realities people are coming from what's considered formal varies. Personally, though, I don't think anyone can go wrong with a good suit." He set aside his work then and stood up, fishing a roll of measuring tape from his pocket. "Come, let me measure you. That's the first step." Once taken, he spun away to pull a few off the various racks lining the walls.

"Suits come in a few varieties, so I've grabbed a few options. Jackets vary in number of buttons, lapel type, and vent type. Pants, though, are easier: Tapered or straight." He gestured for Atem to follow as he breezed past and, after hanging the clothes inside, ushered him into the dressing room, "They're all the same colour so you can pick a cut you like best. After that, we can talk colour." And he closed the door behind him. "And if you want my opinion, just ask." And he returned to his seat on the sofa and retook to his embroidery. He'd provided Atem with a variety of jackets, two choices of pants, a basic white button down, and a solid tie. Oh, he looked up, did Atem even know how to tie a tie? He considered for a moment, but returned to his crafts. They could deal with that later, if need be.

Although he wasn't used to such a thing—that is, a God speaking like a modern man and not in ancient tongues—he didn't feel it would be wise to question it. He could at least sympathize with the plight in some way, as Atem himself was only so open about his Pharaoh 'life' because it was the easiest explanation for his actions, not because he wished to garner extra praise or attention. He rather enjoyed a quieter existence, he'd found, when given the chance to. "I understand." The Pharaoh replied ultimately, with an agreeing nod, and he let the subject drop. Their conversation moved, then, onto Yugi. Strange colored eyes opened up large. The old version of him, remaining inside Yugi? Was that even possible? This place had more than one trap card to reveal, it seemed. He tried to control his reaction.[break][break] "My older self...that will make things difficult." The man finally sighed, deciding not to elaborate further as judging by the owner's comment, he had already found out what a different personality his spirit had been when lost and darkened. And he didn't wish to waste the tailor's time with his own stories, higher being or no, Atem preferred to speak about his personal life in detail only when it was specifically asked of him. The dark-skinned man cooperated silently, while listening intently to the their explanations. The flurry of movement that followed likely would have overwhelmed him on a bad day, but his alert gaze kept up smoothly, examining the jackets and other clothing presented to him. "Alright. Thank you." Atem deliberated for a moment with his options, deciding to not keep the tailor waiting and just pick out what felt right.[break][break] He changed quickly enough, smoothing out the jacket he wore and looking over himself in the mirror. A small smirk found it's way onto his expression, thinking that the charismatic God hadn't been incorrect, as he agreed that a good suit of this quality would not look wrong on anyone. Luckily he had seen many older men wearing these suits in Domino and recognized the provided tie for what it was, however he would admit if pressed that he struggled for just a few moments with it. It took him a bit to properly envision how to make it fit what he had seen others wearing, but he managed. After he was done, the Pharaoh wasted no time in opening the door, walking out. "How is this?" Atem asked him, on the off chance that he had made poor choices, he wouldn't take offense to being corrected. He wasn't the master of this craft, after all. Alessandro wove the gold thread through the fabric with methodic, rhythmic strokes as he seemed to stare somewhere past the fabric. He considered how to go about this as his hands moved of their own accord. There was little he actually knew about Yugi and even less he knew of the spirit inside the puzzle he wore. Yugi, at least, seemed unaware of the existence of the spirit he carried around and Aless did not wish to reveal it to him. He felt personally that it was something they ought to figure out on their own, especially since the spirit did not seem to wish Yugi any harm. What about this one, though? This could be an entirely different entity from the one with yugi, from a reality wildly different from the boy's. Perhaps he should've held his tongue, kept Yugi's existence to himself, but oh, it would only be a matter of time before they ran into each other. In the end, he only sped up the inevitable.

"How does this look?" Atem broke through Aless thoughts sooner than he had expected, really, but not enough to amount to any degree of surprise. He set down again and his embroidery and walked over. He checked the fit of the jacket first before he took a step back to properly examine him.

"I think it looks good, but the more important question is what do you think?" He asked, "Did you try on the other jackets? Pick one or two that you like best or if you like different parts of different jackets I can see if I have one that has it all."
